There are so many things to think about and do as we prepare for winter. The biggest one has got to be making feed for the animals to last them the long, winter months. There's corn to chop, hay to make, grain to harvest, and silos to fill. Then there are barns and shelters to get ready, bedding to make, and animals to move from pastures to shelters.
As we prepare for winter, we are taking extra care to make sure that our products stay stocked up for the season. We will be raising chickens year round to make sure that there is always fresh meat available. We will have fresh beef being stocked monthly and fresh pork bimonthly. We pride ourselves in providing superior quality meat that you can feel confident feeding your family.
In other news, we just finished our farm store sign and have it displayed by the road. We spent a lot of time making this from scratch over the summer. There is always a project going on it seems.
What do you do to prepare for fall? It is certainly one of the busiest times of the year! Regardless, take some time to enjoy the beauty of it all. Visit a pumpkin patch or apple orchard, take a walk and take in the sights, or make your favorite fall dessert, etc. We have roasts for $1 off during October, so you could break the crock pot out and enjoy a nice fall meal as well.
Have a wonderful fall season, we hope to see you soon!
